What are the (4?) different types of committee's in the American Government.

First one to answer gets 40 creds.

Well, Treeees pretty much covered it. There is the 3 main branches Exec, Jud, and Leg. and there is all those small ones for certain areas, yes. I think you need to be more specific, are they sub-committees of a certain committee?

I am being as specific as possible. I just remember that they were the 4 main committee's.

But I DO know that a bill has to pass through these 4 committee's to become a law.

Laws aren't passed via committees. Bills (or law proposals) are submitted to committees for hearings as the first step in the law making procedure. There are tons of committees here in the US, each with their own function. Any bill that is presented for hearings by four committees is a bit unusual. Only after the hearings are complete is the bill presented to the House or Senate. From there, the bill needs a 2/3 majority vote to be passed along. The committees that were listed previously are only a handful of the committees in the US. All the committees are designed to do is allow the particular group that comprises the committee a chance to speak on the bill, especially if it is of interest to that particular group.

I think instead of statuatory committee it is "select" committee.

But who cares, you win, creds sent.
