Are there any good and free ones out there?

I have this stupid AOL Safety Center thing and I don't think it does anything.

I did that Virus Test, with the eicor.com file and McAfee picked it up, but I don't know where my McAfee is at all.

I used avast for a while before my PC got corrupted and it worked well the virus/spam thing was spotted by avast my computer was basically a zombie and sending out ads like for viagra and all that and i would get these pop-ups by avast telling me im sending out e-mails which i wasn't and the title of the e-mails were like for viagra or penis pumps or whatever. But all in all i say its good anti virus scanner.

I don't use antivirus, internet protection, firewalls and the like. I've never had any real problems.

I personaly would suggest avast! it has an on access scanner that scans everything to hidden files going through.

You can download the free version and reigster for a 14 month trial serial.

Then re-register it again when it runs out.

i use avast and it works great. when you first install it will suggest you to scan your memory. I've used both and i prefer avast over avg.
    edit
also I've noticed i have 10 creds again so whoever post something useful to this next gets them.
