what would you buy for a home entertainment system?
    get those for the PC.
atleast assuming you've got spdf or similar.

what audio connections does your system have?

Depends what you want, if you want surround sound then you are either going to have to get cheap ones in the $50-$150 price range, or you can hook up a reciever and get real surround sound in the $500-$1000 price range. It all depends on what you want. If you just want to hook up a 2.1 system, than id go for some Bose or Altecs, their fairly cheap and high quality.

The $99 Bose are 2 speakers that hook up directly into your sound provider (mobo or card) using the normal 3.5 mm jack. I believe they come with the subwoofer built into them. They sound great for pretty much anything, for a few hundred more you can get much better though.

Talking about Bose... Any one tried the Bose headphones? They're amazing, it's expensive for a reason but it's worth it for the quality you get.
