If you don't own the original MGS Portable Ops, which I'm assuming you don't. Then you'll absolutely want to get this one because it has extra content.

I remember my PSP rarely got played because there weren't any good games out for it, well none that I really liked. Until MGS Portable Ops came out, great game and the first game I beat for the PSP. Awesome action game, and it really stays true to the MGS Franchise, along introducing some new things into play such as the "Recruiting" soldiers idea which works really well. Not sure what extras this new one may come with, but it's definitely worth it. Basically if you played MGS3, you'll get the same feeling for this game, except that the FPS mode may be a little awkward since it's harder to aim, beyond that it's the same game you enjoyed on your PS2.

Yes it is worth it if you like MGS and own MGS Portable Ops, MGS Portable Ops is a great game. I think it's the best game for the PSP, it really shows what the PSP is capable of, it has a great storyline like the other MGS games. Even the online mode of it is nice which I thought it would be kinda ----ty since it's on a handheld but it turned out to be nice. So portable ops + being an expansion with a new story mode, yea I think it's worth buying it.

Of course, a big company like Konami who's revenue as of 2004 according to wikipedia is 2.3 billion dollars will scam you by releasing an expansion which the clearly stated it's an expansion but in reality it's just a way to get your credit card details and send it to scammers in Nigeria. Thanks for the heads up, or else I might have lost a lot of money thru Konami's scam. Damn you Hideo...

Get the first one, it's kinda getting hard to find at gamestop these days, well in the state I live in it is, which is why I bought 2 copies to sell one in the future. The game is fun tho, you'll have fun recruiting people cause if they get wasted it really doesn't matter, you still got Snake hah. Plus if you go outside and have the wifi on you can recruit some people.

Why would you get the first Portable Ops however? If Portable Ops + is out, I really seee no reason in buying the first one since the newer one has more extras. Now, on the other hand if they were to stop producing Portable Ops all together, then I'd understand the reason why you'd buy two to sell for an inflated price in the future.

POPS+ is just an expansion type thing. Get Portable Ops first, it's better, and POPS+ isn't as good as the first. Any online gaming magazine says it, such as IGN and Gamespot etc.

You need the first one cause you cant play the expansion without the first one. I mean theres a reason why it's called an expansion, it's like wanting to play WoW Burning Chrusade without having WoW installed first.

O_O;; Holy crap, are you serious? To be honest, I hadn't really checked since I thought MGS:PO+ was just the same game, with bonuses. My apologies, didn't know it was some sort of "expansion" xD.

I dont really know why they say you need the original game cause if it checks your memory stick for a game save of portable ops... I mean ----, you can go to gamefaqs and download a gamesave there and use that, but then it's kinda pointless playing the expansion content without playing the story mode first.
