well, im a junior this year but i need help, i don't know what do after high school. I'm going to college of course, but I don't know what I want as a career. What should I do?
Do not even worry about it m8. When you get into college your first year or two just take your basic courses and some expirement courses. That way you will kinda of be able to figure out what you might want to do. Most people do not know what they want to do until they are halfway done with college.
look at colleges where it is easy to change majors since, chances are, you won't get it right the first time. also try applying to a college's undecided or general curriculum major paths. those normally provide a wide variety of studies so you can figure out what you like.
yeah but some colleges make you declare something when you apply so you should visit and ask what their policy is
that is very rare. Colleges actually allow you to change your major until your junior year (3rd year). So I actually dont believe that. All of the colleges I have applied to, I have applied as undecided, and I doubt it will be detrimental to whether or not I am accepted.
well I know the University of Illinois makes you wait 2 year to change majors so that type of thing could get in the way of an easy switch. I'm just he should ask colleges he is interested in what their policies are about majors and change them.
Yea I am going to Mizzou and they don't make me decide...although I already know what I want to do. But still....yea that is VERY rare.
schools that have a very competitive sections and more laid back sections tend to have restrictions on when you can change majors
Well yea if you are going to harvard, or princeton, or some stuck up school like that. Go to a party school man, have some fun!
as I mentioned university of Illinois is like that. the engineering and business school are very compeptive but liberal arts and sciences are basically the the same as any other big 10 school. not a stuck up school at all
Yep, go get drunk, get laid, come down with a case or two of gonorrhea, maybe get busted for drinking underage, and then realized you're f*cked when your junior year rolls around and you haven't done anything productive for the past two years. I love playing Devil's advocate.
