So I'm getting 360 for Christmas. I picked up Orange Box yesterday (but I can't play it ;( ), but I'm gonna need some more suggestions. COD4 is a must, Mass Effect probably, Bioshock probably. So what should I DEFINITELY buy . What are some hidden treasures I should know about? (as I note, I don't really want Halo 3. I've played it, and I think there are much better games out there)
Assassin's Creed is a good single player game, Guitar Hero 3, is really good, that's if you're into it musical gaming type thing, great to play with a mate, and just a fun game. PGR 4 if you're into arcade racing, or Forza Motorsport 2 if you're into sim racing. I recommend you get Xbox Live, it's great fun online with a few mates. Maybe some Microsoft points for some arcade games, or Xbox original games. My gamertag is Intalina, you can add me if you want, when you get your 360 ^_^
Yea definitely Assassin's Creed and Guitar Hero 3. I don't know about you, but I also loved CoD2 and CoD3. What types of games are you mainly in to?
Congratulations! The Xbox 360 is definitely the best choice at the moment, not saying the PS3 is bad or anything. It just doesn't have that huge collection of games (yet). Personally, if you like First Person Shooters I suggest you give Call of Duty 4 a definite look, The Darkness was also another awesome game, Bioshock is good it's just that after you beat it there isn't that much replay value left in it. It's still a beautiful game whatsoever, and The Darkness doesn't offer much either once you beat it. Theres tons of good Xbox 360 games I could list, so I'll just list the ones I can think about right now. Assassin's Creed, Armored Core 4 ( Mixed reviews, Personally I love mech games so I picked this one up), Forza Motorsport 2, Gears of War, Dead Rising, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, The Darkness, Mass Effect, DiRT, The Orange Box, Guitar Hero 3.
haha i forgot to mention that i do know most of the 360s biggest games and the reviews they got. i'm familiar with the system. also xbox live is a given (its practically why im getting the thing [i adore my wii but i need some real online]). allow me to refine the question: what games (excluding Halo 3) are you currently enjoying? so far, its been mostly: COD4 GHIII AC what about...crackdown? what are your experiences with that?
I find the burnout games a little repetitive but if you're going to get one wait for burnout paradise. I think it is set to launch early next year/

Crackdown like you asked is ok.. Not to fun after you beat it, but finding orbs can be fun/frustrating.. Definites are: CoD 4 Assassins Creed Mass Effect Gears of War Guitar Hero III
Cod4 is ok, it sucks that it doesn't have any multiplayer achievements. Doesn't give me anything to look forward to when playing online. GH3 is awesome, online or solo. Bioshock is overrated, its a one-time play through type of game. Mass effect, I want to try that. Halo 3, you're right. Its boring, its the same stuff over and over again...shooooooooot and then MELEE........shoooooooooot and MELEE.........shooooooooooooot and STICKY GRENADE........etc.....repeat.
im gettin a 360 for xmas too haha i hears mass effect is a must for it my friend has crackdown and he said it sucks after you beat it cause it gets really boring. Ima agree with you on the halo thing. the game gets mad boring. Well all I know so far is that Mass Effect is deffinetly gunna be one of my first games. I cant wait for Fable 2.
