one thing to start:
u may wanna bring out your focal more. right now it looks like its just part of the background.
so try to bring out your focal some.
i could go on but i think thats the most important thing u can improve on with this

 

I've got some critique that may or may not help.. Try to distance yourself from brushed backgrounds, and start using stocks. the bg doesn't fit the render at all, apart from colours :/ (Which are monotone) you also gotta try and make your text a lil more subtle.

 

Hmm the font are not good and the background but i think ur friend can improve it

well i just made simple text for someone that i play WoW with. It was a quick thing to do and he liked it. I really like brushed backgrounds and I suck at stocks and Cd4 so i just have to practice i guess. I think i feathered the render too much, thats why it looks like part of the bg. Thanks!
