    Hello everyone!

Well awhile ago I did one of those survey sites and got my own domain name, a nice .com one. Now I have my hosting through a free provider and I'm wondering what to do. Should I usee the name server registration thing to move my domain to my host? Or is it easier to just have the domain redirect to a free subdomain on the site.

The set-up- My domain: http://www.versatilekyle.com points to http://kd91.x10hosting.com.

The reason I am asking this is because I am going be making a new website (hosted with the same provider) and getting a new domain shortly and it is going to be business related, and I need to have the best results I can in the search engines. Does having the domain just point to a site make it not friendly to search engines? Or will they just follow the redirect and use the actual site?

And there is no URL masking or anything, just a plain and simple redirect.

    Thanks for the help guys!

And if you have any other tips on getting good search engine ranking please tell me, because all I am really doing right now is placing descriptions and keywords in META tags on my site.

It looks more ----- if your domain actually points to the website, rather than a redirect link.

Other than that, it doesn't matter.

It is easier if you do it by moving it to the host, or changing the nameservers on your domain!

Redirecting is not 100 percent efficient and I am sure it wouldl slow down your site a tiny bit!

Good Luck with your website :P!

It is easier to redirect (setting it up wise) but a bit slower. I would go with masking the domain, as it looks better and runs a tad faster.

its always best to use DNS nameservers and have the domain point to them rather than a simple redirect link..

    A few tips:

If you ever want to go and sell your domain later on, you're going to want it to have the content, and not redirect.

Also, to get better on Google, you want meta keywords on each, no more than 63 words i believe, and don't use the same word more than 3 times.

Don't know if this helps you, but I hope it does.
