    Hey how many people use Linux here? Are you looking for a good distro? Try PCLinuxOS www.GetPCLinuxOS.com

    Me and my dad are going to be putting a dual boot linux and windows on my computer soon i dont know much of the linux side of setting up their OS so im having my dad do it so if he messes it up its his fault XD

    I'm putting SUSE on mine from what ive seen about it i already like it ive messed with it like once or twice

    Running Gutsy Ubuntu 7.10 on my Laptop. How can you mess up a dual boot? You create a partition, you install it on the partition. Its pretty much a 2 step thing.

    SUSE is good and all.. it was my first attempt to the linux world then I got smart and got PCLinuxOS

    its not the partition its the setting up of the Linux OS on my system and like configuring it and ---- that i dont feel like dealing with

    It's not as hard as you may think.

    Much of the initial setup is the same as any other OS.

    Anyway, with your incredible knowledge of everything PC, it should be a breeze for you to figure out. ^^

    Linux is truly easy and even easier to update

    i know software and coding im not too big on hardware and setting up stuff tho i do still no some hardware stuff

    If you are a coder, then you should already have a good grasp of any OS.

    when the drivers for your video card work and you don't have to do crazed work arounds just to initialize the GUI.
    shame on nVidia for slacking on the GF8 drivers for a while.

    With PCLinuxOS it just works even my nVidia gfx card
