Was looking at sound cards recently and i was interested in this particular one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductRevie...N82E16829132001 Its the ASUS Xonar, read a few reviews saying it is the best out currently. I plan on using it for gaming, loud realistic movies etc etc. What do you guys think of it? Any of you personally use it or strongly recommend something else? Thanks in advance!
I have an ASUS in my computer and i havent had any problems with it looking at the reviews people have posted almost everyone seems to love it
Well, if you're happy to part with my money, why not. It seems to be pretty damn good. And hopefully the driver support is better than Creative.
I'd only advise spending money on a sound card if you have a good speaker setup, and I'm not talking $50 "gaming" headphones
Buying a sound card is pretty much useless unless you have a very highend speaker setup. And still even then...'high-end' sound cards are pretty much useless.
Pretty useless, but damn, you can clearly hear the difference when using my ''$50'' headset on my X-Fi comparing to onboard audio. My opinion on that sound card, don't get it. If you really want to spend that much money on a soundcard; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...05&Tpk=X-Fi If not, just get a simple $30-40 card. Good thing to do is look for a second hand.
Thanks for the replies guys. The speaker problem is nothing, my father used to work retail in the stereo buisiness and he has customers that sell top notch speakers such as bose, klipsch etc etc. As far as the card goes, the main reason i was interested is because ASUS is a very reliable brand and in the future i trust them to keep their drivers updated constantly so when i choose to get vista 64 i should have no problems here and in the years to come.
id recommend u buy the creative xifi platinum xtreme if ur budget allows or else look at auzentech hdaxplosion dts. i have an auzentech hdaxplosion and its pretty damn good for the price its selling.. very good if u watch alot of movies as it has DTS
