1. Start with a new document with a background color of black. I chose 500x500 pixels but you may want to start off smaller, which is fine. 2. Add lens flares I suggest adding quite a few, depending on how big your canvas is. Make sure you cover the canvas well. Filter>Render>Lens Flare... Lens type: 50-300mm Zoom Brightness: 100% 3. Add a chrome filter Filter>Sketch>Chrome Detail:10 Smoothness:0 4. Go to Filter>Distort>Wave Type: Sine Undefined Areas: Repeat Edge Pixels Click Randomize until you see something you like. 5. Duplicate the layer Layer>Duplicate Layer... 6. Repeat step 4 and then set blending mode to lighten. 7. Merge Visible Layers Layer>Merge Visible OR Ctrl+Shift+E 8. Repeat steps 4-7 as many times as you want. The more you repeat steps 4-7, the better it will look in my opinion. 9. Once you are pleased with the way it looks, give it some color Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation OR Ctrl+U 10. When the Hue/Saturation menu pops up, make sure the checkbox next to "colorize" is checked. Now you can make it whatever color you like by playing with the top two sliding bars. *OPTION* -don't do unless you have the urge You can also mess with the birghtness/contrast of your creation Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast This simply gives it a nice touch.
