Ok so anyway. I am finally getting a laptop...mainly for school....but it will still be better than my crap computer I am using at this very moment. Anyways, it is gonna take me forever to move everything over, but the main thing I am worried about is not being able to transfer photoshop.

See I have Photoshop CS2 on my computer, but when I moved up here to Missouri, I lost almost all my music CD's and some of my software CD's I had with them.

So my question, is there anyway to get my photoshop onto my laptop without the CD's?

you could try finding the folder you installed it in and pulling that over to an identical directory on your new computer it has to be all the same file names and folder names and stuff though along with user

otherwise you probably could just download one and if you have your product code you could enter it or look through on adobe for help and give them your situation and they may give you another product key

If you have your license key still, just DOWNLOAD the trial and put in your key to activate it. This will work fine and you should be able to use PS CS2 on both computers still. if you have already installed your copy on two computers, just go to Help > Transfer Activation. this will deactivate PS CS@ on your old computer, but enable you to install on a different computer if you already ahve i installed in two computers.

    Hope this helps. :)

Also: You may find this tool helpful in transferring files to your new computer.

Yea but see I don't have the CD's anymore....they got lost when I moved...which in turn means I don't have the CD Key either. So is there no way to move it from one computer to another?

again i think if you can put the files on a blank CD or find some way to get it onto a portable media and transfer it over there is a chance it will work though probably not but its worth a shot otherwise talk to adobe about it

No, don't make a disk image, because chances are it'll be too big for your laptop hard drive, and you'll get all the registry and all the useless crap that'll make it take forever. I'd just stick my desktop hard drive in an external case and plug it into a USB port on your laptop.

Yes, it's still considered illegal to download it. Whether or not you plan on using a legitimate license, downloading a copy not distributed by Adobe is illegal.

What a messed up world this is, huh.

This should be able to find the key in ps if its still installed so you can retreive it and transfer it.

before mods have a field day this is legal as he is the original owner of the key
