Whats your take on the strike? How long do you think it will last and what have you noticed it affecting already? No new Stephen Colbert Show Info: The last strike occured ~1988 it lasted for 22 weeks and the industry lost ~ 500 million dollars. I personally predict it to go on longer than 22 weeks -_-
I dont watch TV that much...doesnt really affect me. Only downside is the GF will be bothering me instead of watching greys anatomy...
I don't watch TV. Besides, the Writers Guild is a bunch of liberals that corrupt the minds of our youth, with very riskay things about sex.
I think it good that they are taking a stand against the money men....good luck to them, and I hope they get the appreciation/share of the profits they deserve.
The definitely deserve more than they're getting. They're responsible for the entire content of the shows and should get more respect. Just wish it would be over sooner or else all my shows like House, The Office, and Colbert Report are going to be gone...
im unhappy because it could be the end for house, heroes, PB and 24 until its over. Im hoping they will learn from the past, and get it over with faster
I think they have every right to do this. If you know anything about screenwriting you would know that they MAYBE, MAYBE get 1-2 scripts even ACCEPTED (Which means they get paid). And most of the time its only 1, unless you're a big shot. Now if they even get 1 in, that script isn't going to pay the mortage for very long, so most of them have second jobs, again "unless you're a big shot." They need every cent of money, so they have no room for "cuts" from big coporations.
The news said that the strike ended on Broadway. Hopefully this will lead the way for the WGA strike to be won. They do have a petition by the way... I don't know how much good it is going to do but there is a petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?WGA and www.unitedhollywood.blogspot.com is pretty much the official site for the news from the writers side.
I think they're greedy jerks. Lots of people have already lost their jobs because their mansions aren't big enough.
