there is nothing wrong with having compressed media especially if it's lossless. in most systems, the largest bottleneck is the drive, not the processor. if you compress the data such that more information is held in less data then the rate at which information is loaded is faster assuming the CPU/memory subsystem can keep up
Depends on what you want, I guess 360 has alot more "exclusive" games, and it also runs alot smoother. And there is a sweet marketplace, I don't know about PS3 since I don't have it, but you can download demos to try out if you like the game, and of some demos you don't even get bored very quickly. Just to say ; I have a 360, and I'm not against PS3 (apart from me and my mate always saying it looks like a coffee machine but that's just a little teasing, if you just make it clean it looks shiny tho ! ). I'd pick 360 over the PS3, simply cause I like the games that are coming out, and what it all has.. Can't even get bored of my Dashboard !
Well, do you want an investment in the PS3, buy now have fun later when the god games come out or do you want a 360 to play good games now? Both are excelent console, I don't really like the fact that Sony used XMB for the PS3, just my preference and thats what yo've got to chose over, its your console, not gamerenders so pick yourself.
The deal they have for the PS3 right now is hard to match IMO. However, the deals are also really good for the 360. You could get both for a little over the starting price of the PS3. So if you have a steady job why not just get both.

Two - Your HDD is not going to be big enough for more than 9-10 or so demos, at 2 GB each in size. On the topic of download-related subjects - If you enjoy playing games online, with other users - on the Xbox 360, to buy your headset and first 3 months, it will cost you 30 dollars. If you buy a renewal, you can expect that for each year past the first 3 month pack, you'll be paying 60 dollars just to play a game against another user. One the PS3, you won't pay a dime. It is absolutely free to interact with other users on the PS3, in every way - Gaming, video-chats, conversation, text, PMs, and anything else you can think of. Lastly, if you want to make things faster online, where you pay nothing, you might want to think about getting some accessories. Lucky for you, you don't have to worry about buying another PS3 product to get it to work for you. If you want to chat with another user in-game, or over the Friend-chat, go buy any Bluetooth capable headset (the ones you use with your cell) and just sync em up for as low as 20 dollars today. (The Xbox 360 wireless headset will cost you 60 dollars) if you want to get a keyboard to make your internet surfing to be quicker, don't worry, just go buy any USB keyboard that is wired, and type all you want. Mouse will work in the very same way for you. There are also available mouse/keyboard sets for the PS3 wirelessly, video cameras, with built-in mics, and a ton of inexpensive controllers. As for all of those users who say that the Playstation 3 doesn't have any good titles released on the console, I currently own two Playstation 3 consoles, have owned in the past , the Xbox 360, and two Wii consoles. At the moment, the Playstation 3 is releasing all of the major title hits, at the same exact time as the 360, except for the exclusive Halo 3 title. Well, actually, in contrast to what you may think, when the HD-DVD disk comes out with it's dual-layer platform, 51 GB disk, you should be able to expect the Blu-ray disk to do the same, but I'm not going to get into the particulars. At the moment, not having to buy the add-on for an extra 200 dollars is a bonus, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, either. I don't hate Xbox 360, and I play it every once in a while, but as far as the perspective of gaming, from now into the future, I've seen a lot more benefits in the PS3. I'm speaking from not only ownership experience of all 3 consoles, but from a salesperson's perspective, as I work in an electronics store as my profession, and I have to deal with customers daily. I see many more Xbox 360s returned under terms of it's poor quality hardware breaking down. You might know this as the 'three lights of death.' I only know of one PS3 'breaking down' in my store's sales history, and it was only because the user changed the region code on the hardware. Something we fixed in minutes.
Which is probably almost proportional to the amount sold of each. Selling more Xbox 360's will lead to getting them returned. As well, they are probably more likely to be mistreated because they are cheaper. More returns != worse product. Poor logic. And another thing, your math in the post near the top of the page sucks. You're listing features that the PS3 has and then saying how much money it would take for the XBOX 360 to do the same thing. That's great, but all the features you list I would never use. As well as the fact that the Xbox360's online play is more organized, similar to the PS2VsXbox online play. Don't get me wrong. I have no bias. I don't want either system. Your logic just had to be shot down.
I have a 360 currently and love it. Currently, there is no true reason to buy a ps3. Later though there is, but truly your not getting a good amount of use out of your PS3 unless you have a damn good t.v, and a damn good surround sound. The blue ray player is useless without a good t.v and sound system. Which is a reason I have a 360. Now, I am a huge RPG fan. At the same time, I love FPS also. Things like Blue Dragon and Mass Effect give me my RPG fix, until things like FFXIII come out (Which I hope to have a HD T.V by then), then I'll be getting me a PS3 around then, depending on my money situation. (Working one day a week isn't good on your pay-check....damn gamestop not giving high schoolers alot of work...-)
Thats oneof the best breakdowns ive ever seen, haha goodjob. I myself am not interested too much in all of the features of the ps3, although they seem really interesting and are obviously superior to the 360, i dont need to browse the internet on a console ive got my computer right next to my 360. I just like to turn the thing on, play some Gears, Halo, or NHL online and then go do something else. I guess in the end it comes down to whether or not you want quality gaming now, or an overall more tuned system with many interesting features, but a still developing line of quality games. I still do think that the online is alot better with the 360, just from what ive seen on my firends ps3 compared to my 360.
