if you can make good art in it go ahead. The tool shouldn't matter, it's the artist. that said, I'm not switching
Agreed. Who cares if one costs a mess load of money and the other is a free piece of software. It's like comparing an X-Box 360 to a Super Nintendo; they are both good in their own ways, despite differences.
To be honest I don't really care what everyone uses. Though I'd say use the best program that works best for you, and if it's Gimp then it's Gimp and if it's Paint then it's Paint.
Well, ofcourse you can also make some good stuff in Gimp, but it is infact a product not as good as photoshop. It´s all about the artist, but having Photoshop as tool sure helps
GIMP is a lot harder imo to understand. there's more you have to do to get the same outcome of photoshop. photoshop is lots easier. trust me i just switched after a years worth of using GIMP photoshop is muuuch easier.
Gimp is a free alternative to PhotoShop, although it's more time-consuming and produces lower quality pictures. But since Adobe is getting more strict with activation codes, less PhotoShop warez is going on which is meaning Gimp's popularity is rising. I however, prefer PhotoShop and have used it for many years.
If you can create something as good as PhotoShop things in GIMP, then good on you. It's much harder to produce something very good in GIMP than PS. Anyway, as long as the thing is good, who cares. But no-one really can provide good tutorials for it, IMO. J a c K
