i was wandering what you need to learn to becoming a graphic designer. such as, web designer, game designer, concept art designer, concept model designer, etc.

i heard you need to learn c++, open gl, etc

for more examples and resources for becoming a designer go here
    http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=146400

i never knew it tqakes THAT much learning just to be a designer.

One more thing, what are the requirments of becoming a web designer? because thats my goal.

    -Game designer?
    -etc?

This might help for all who is going to be a graphic designer later on their future career. So it is important for some of us to know these things EARLIER then AFTER or else it will become difficult for you as we speak....

im just 13 and im going to learn all this throughout this summer. all i need is to find some prgrams to help me practice.

    some of the programs are...

    -photoshop
    -cinema 4d
    -Maya
    -3d studio max
    -v ray
    -open gl
    -flash macromedia
    -dreamweaver
and WAY WAY MORE. i know there are few more but i forgot.

people should get started learning right now before its too late, especially for people who is in highschool and close be graduating!

some of those programs take longer than u think to learn. I have had or seen them before. None are easy. Its like starting PS all over again.

There are no real set requirements to become a web designer. For some it comes naturally and you just teach youself by reading some tutorials on HTML, PHP, PhotoShop, ect.. For others it just takes a but longer. To learn the very basics of web design I suggest you check out Creating Web Pages for Dummies. It teaches you the basics of HTML, FrontPage, Dream weaver, Multimedia, JavaScript, Flash, E-Commerce, And XML. 9 books in 1.

    Game Designer?

Not sure, Probab;y egt your hands on a 3d program that will give you the ability to model characters and maybe RealBasic.

Doing that won't be that hard depending on what your doing, remember Expanded tables is your friend, makes inserting, deleting, nesting tables so much easier.

I seriously doubt anyone at this forum has a chance, other than Blacklabelwood, Irrelevant, and a few select others. This is stupid. Especially you font whores sasying "I hope I'm gonna be one~?!" You have no chance, sorry to break it to ya.

oOo way to be an optimist. Let them try what they want. Michael Jordan was kicked off his high school basketball team. ;)
