Wolverine Movie Gets Official Title and Release Date X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits theaters May 1, 2009 Posted: 2007-10-19 Updated: 2007-10-19 12:24:06 By Ryan Penagos X-Men Origins: Wolverine Movie » Gavin Hood to Direct Wolverine Spin-Off Movie » Wolverine Solo Movie on the Way May is officially awesome month for Marvel movies. From "X2" in '03 and "Spider-Man 3" in '07 to 2008's "Iron Man," there's no doubt that Marvel and May make a solid team. And now we can chalk another surefire success to the list when "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" slashes its way into theaters May 1, 2009! Reprising his role as Wolverine from the "X-Men" movies, Hugh Jackman stars in the blockbuster which, according to VARIETY, could feature a young William Stryker, Sabretooth, Weapon X and a bevy of other mutants—both returning and new characters. Additional cast members haven't been announced yet, but joining Jackman are director Gavin Hood ("Tsotsi") and writer David Benioff ("The Kite Runner"). With filming tentatively scheduled to begin by the end of 2007, look for more "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" news and announcements here on Marvel.com.
quote - now we can chalk another surefire success to the list when "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" slashes its way into theaters May 1, 2009 i dont agree with this statement cos people say that about all kinds of things. take spiderman for instance i personally thought all three were rubbish and a waste of a trip to the cinema
this would be a wicked movie....i would love to see it but 2009! aww man, they couldnt start it earlier? now we all gonna have to wait so long. But i guess theres ironman to look foward to first
Personally, I'm getting a little tired of x-Men. The characters just don't pull me in as much as Spider Man's do. In Spider Man, the bad guys are good guys that had nowhere else to turn, but the villains in X-Men are just idiots that have learned to abuse their powers, that's just boring. Also, spin-offs never go successfully as seen with Elektra. Pretty soon, they're going to start running out of decent marvel characters. One of the last few left is Captain America. Let me name the list while I'm ranting. Spider Man The Punisher X-men Daredevil Blade Ghost Rider Iron Man (2008) The Hulk Fantastic Four Elektra I think I've named a good bunch, seriously though, Marvel threw all their ideas into the theaters too fast. Once special effects becom even greater, DC Comics will still have a great selection to choose from for their movies. they've made like 5 batman movie and nobody's lost minterest in that yet.
Exactly man! I was so mad that they got someone to look like the beast in xmen but no gambit...like WTF!
Gambit ftw =(. Wonder why they cut him out? On-Topic: 2009 is a long time away for something that's likely to be rubbish.
same here most of the time plus so far theres very few that have been worth watching!!! (mainly blade, awesome movie)
