Ok, this is the system I run on:

    AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2,2Ghz
    1GB RAM
    GeForce 6600GT 256MB, 512MB RAM
    SATA HD 120GB

Now I ask you. What is the next thing I should upgrade? Im looking for a gaming system. Im ok with my videocard. Dont have much to spend ($200-$300)

Thats a fine system. You could think about buying a new HSF and overclocking. If not, the only thing I can think of is going up to a mid-range 8-series card.

    RAM

Definetly upgrade the ram. All gaming PC today should have 2 GB ram. Most games take 300-700 MB of memory to run. Add windows and background programs and your system is maxing out at 1GB

Plus DDR2 and DDR have dropped significantly recently. So adding 1 GB should cost between $30 to $60 depending on brand and type.

My PC is not at home right now so I dont really know what type RAM it is. I dont think upgrading video card would be a good idea with the amount of money I have. So I'll consider buying an extra 1GB DDR2 RAM.

the system is more likely than not DDR1 based.

the 6600s are somewhat old right now and all athlons at the time ONLY supported DDR1.
