Isnt there a good risk of bricking it?

when while making the battery or using it?
there is basically no chance as long as you follow a tutorial while making it.
when using the battery, assuming you made the magic stick right, the only way to brick is if you do something stupid like take out the battery while its in the middle of downgrading, or run out of battery life.
both of these situations can be easily avoided. And if this does happen I think that you might just
need to run it again and it will unbrick

    by new you mean slim?
as of now it works on every psp but you can only make it on a original psp I think,
for sure the psp has to have custom or 1.5 firmware

Yeah, it works on Slim. There is a way now also to make the magic memory stick without having to have another PSP with a custom firmware, PSPmod forums have a topic with all of the files needed. PM me if you want the link.

As of now firmware doesn't matter the pandoras memroy can do every psp regardless of firmware version
If you have a friend, or acess to a psp running custom firmware you can make a pandora's battery
    and magic memory stick

Monster Hunter Freedom and the 2nd one they just brought is two good games for the psp. Especially if you have some other friends with psp's and you talk them into getting it.

hmm...psp is good for different things...like online gaming and stuff.
ds is more the unique style..quick minigames and such.
they're both equal in my opinion, just look at their software titles and make your decision.
