i believe nasuul just rates people by the ignorance that he has. he stereotypes and assumes ridiculous things because he is so far superior than all of us that his views are the "right" views. his ignorance just makes him judge people because he is clearly wrong in the head to believe that there is some good in this world and that there are some americans who dont just screw their cousins and sit on the porch all day killing african americans.

weve clearly made a mistake in doubting his opinions because its pretty clear that he is always right.

    Have you ever killed?

I have come pretty damm close to it. And come pretty damm close to being killed.

I have a scar down my left chest from a knife some punk attempted to cut me with during a fight. The moment the guy saw my blood he froze up, and pretty much lost his will to fight.

In another incident i disarmed another fool and stabbed his friend in the arm. Total impalement of the knifeblade through his upper arm.

When u fight close combat, you have to not only use every ounce of skill, strength, determination, and concentration to win, but you also have to, smell, and see your opponent. Watch the light of their life burning in their eyes.

Now tell me that is easyier to snuff out than shooting someone from 20-30m without even knowing the sound of their voice.

Now i know also that guns will always be around. It is wishful thinking to think otherwse. But consider for a moment a world without guns. If the chinese never discovered how to make gunpowder. Imagine how wars would be fought today if there were no high tech weaponry. Imagine how few murders there would be.

You are all so used to seeing gun related crime and violence these days that you find it abnormal when i provide the idea of an alternative.

So RxBandit instead of insulting me, consider the possibilities.

And yes, perhaps i am psychotic. I know i am sure as hell capable of killing. And its only circumstance and discipline that has restrained me. But ultimately i dream of a world simplified. Basic life and peace.

You want an example of what i mean? Watch saving private ryan. The german soldier thats stabs the soldier after the brawl.

So much easier to shoot than to stab.

So you don't like guns because you believe to kill someone you have to literally have to be right infront of their face? Why would someone want to make a kill a more difficult task than it already is? That has to be the dumbest argument against guns I have ever heard. And believe me, I have heard alot of arguments.

Perhaps not the most smart of ideas.

However here is some interesting trivia for you. The US. Army handbook on conduct of the modern soldier is an adaptation of the japanese teachings of Bushido. The code of honour of the samurai. The original teachings are deep and many. But one of them that i am focussing. You must kill for a reason, and to honour your enemies death. How can u honour their death...if it means nothing?

Well apperently this adaptation (which I have never heard of before) is nothing more than a book based off of the teachings of Bushido. The Japanese have a hugely different culture than ours, and death to them has a whole other meaning. Just because the Japanese honor the death of an enemy doesn't mean that our soldiers are going to be a clone of the teachings in Bushido. And I didn't fully understand what you meant in your last sentence. "How can u honour their death...if it means nothing?"...? The 'If it means nothing' part threw me off.

Plus, I have owned/skimmed through a good amount of US Army manuels, and I have never heard of anything like this. Link me to this "US Army adaptation of Bushido" please.

EDIT: And real quick, I am pretty sure that the "conduct of a modern soldier" probably derived from medievál Europe's concept of chivalry.

im not attacking your religious or spiritual beliefs when it comes to death. and the fact that you want to look in someones eyes when you kill them means nothing to me. all im saying is that murder is murder. murder will happen in some way or another no matter what happens. if there was no high tech machinery, then people would punch people to kill them. im just saying that not everyone who owns or shoots a gun is out to kill. the majority of people who own guns dont have the guts to kill someone when confronted when an issue, but you can not make assumptions about things you do not know.

Oh i know that everyone that has a gun ISNT out to kill. My father was a #1 pistol shooter in NZ for some time during his youth.

And neither am i saying guns have no place in this world. I know they do, and as a (possible) future applicant for the defence forces ill be more than happy to use them for my defence, and the demise of my targets.

But the point i have been trying to make this entire thread is not in any shape or form connected to any reality. Merely suggesting an idea of why and what the world could, or may be like if firearms never existed.

The world would be exactly the same. People are people. The Romans used arrows and swords, the Greeks used bronze, cavemen used stone. We would still be at war and we would still kill, the world wouldn't be ANY better.

Ummm.... the entire thread was based off the reality of guns.... why make a suggestion of them not existing?

guns and bows and arrows and firearms were invented to kill, but for hunting. the bows were originally invented as a way to kill food, and they evolved into gun powder and guns, but now killing is not the only use for guns.

i mean sure people use them for good, but like i would say.. 70-80% of the firearms are used for irresponsible purposes, which makes them stupid killing machines. they were invented to kill and keep control, i dont believe they are instruments.
