Tony Hawk is a multi-millionaire and a marketing phenomena...and all these kids buy anything with his name on it or anything he endorses...Its a business to him...I promise he doesn't "do it as a hobby" anymore. Can't knock his hustle...but I guarantee he doesn't grind on rails...and skateboard hard and fast through populated places...

I'm sure Tony Hawk still skates for fun... Also I agree that skating on public property, grinding rails is not good because it does damage to property. Ollying a 10 stair does no damage at all though. I understand why it's outlawed in places and that is fine. There is such thing as a skatepark. And whoever said chicks don't dig skaters must be retarded.

but then a small child runs past and you land on him...and hurt him...then what...well..."OMGZ he should of been looking at muh AWEZOMES moves durh"....no...thats why theres skateparks...same reason theres drag strips...keep that ---- in a controlled environment.

Check yourself...I promise any girl will get more excited over her BF getting a new car...than a new deck. No 18+year old girl with half a brain says "OMGz..I wanna meet all these skaterbois" in her myspace profile....Avril Lavigne is so 2000...GTFO...

Wow...do you just think of ways to make things sound even more farfetched? Seriously a small child running past and being landed on? Please, show me at least one documented case of that happening.

I would hope that any 18+ guy would choose a car over a new deck if he didn't have one. Seriously. And who is Avril Lavigne?

Right now I'm not even allowed to drive a car, you need to be 18.
If you hang around with people that share the same activities as you, you'll probably meet a girl that likes skateboarding.
There is a lot of skater girls out there.

And Avril Lavigne, c'mon man. No one listens to that, and never did.

The skater was in critical condition when he hit her? rofl.

No, but seriously. I dont think people hit others with meaning unless they did something to them.
Just because one skater goes into a women, you shouldnt put every skater into that hitting people category.

I think skateboarding itself is perfectly fine. Hell, I think it's more than perfectly fine, but that could be because I skate.

It only gets illegal when we start breaking stuff and skating on private property. Public property is public, therefore I can skate it if I don't break it. Just like you can use it if you don't mess it up.

Outlawing skateboarding is ridiculous. Are you going to outlaw riding a bike next?

    Seriously..

    Do you skate? No.
You can't possibly know what skateboarding is about if you don't do it.

That, and it's really become a stereotype. Plus, I've see skateboarders grab cars as they pull from stop signs to get going, that's extremely dangerous, as well as an unfair liability.

You were clearly saying skateboarding is annoying and a crime to a degree and approve of banning, the force tells me that you don't skate, or was it common sense...
