The 1st and 3rd are nice, the sword looks pretty cool.. But the eye right of the sword looks weird. ^^

 

Yeah, that was a clipping mask gone wrong, and it's too late to really do much about it. thanks for your feedback.

 

I like the 3rd one. Nice effects but too much going on. Try to reduce.

 

I think it looks ok.
It's really, really busy though.
Maybe a little too much around his
face.

Other than that, the effects are sweet.
Just in the way of the focul.

Nice color in v3.

Just re-read your post.

I used to make my tags way too messy myself.
What I did was just worked on pimping one effect
at a time. I poured a lot more work into three or four
effects than 30 - 40.

Hope that helps mate.

 

Clear up the focal point and you will have a winner.

 

Thanks alot for your critique, I'll take these things into mind when I design my next tag, I know it's rather overdone, that's what I'm trying to fix.

The splatter of his face on the right should get taken out. Everything is really cluttered. I know an easy way to fix this.

The effects on the sword are pretty good but the colors are kind of bad, and everything else is flat and cluttered. Make an applied image, and blur almost everything a little, besides the render and the sword. Then take out your burn tool and burn everything you blurred. Now it seems less flat and cluttered, and the sword is the focal point. Maybe sharpen the sword a bit. Then fool around with the color of the sword/effects. GL man.
