nice, never seen that filter (forget the name of it) used on a sprite tag, but the results are nice. Maybe erase some of the filtering from his face to bring out a slight bit more detail.

Yay, X-Men! Gambit for the win. Nice signature, the bluey-purpley goes well with the sprite. The whole tags flows, overall, and I think that the original is slightly better than the retries.

I think it's a great first sprite. I only have 1
under meh belt as well. >.<

The colors are very nice.^_^ Really like the
flow, text is also very nice. Maybe the one thing
it's just a little lacking on is depth. For some reason
it looks a little flat right now.

I like the original the best, except for the text in the upper left corner. Maybe you could do a similar text effect to the first version and combine that with the border used in the 3rd?
