Ok, as this is just my opinion, all I can say is that it looks really flat and dull. Ash doesn't have enough of the signatures focus (Her face is cut off) I mean she seems a bit upset about it too, I mean how would you feel if I cut the top of your head off and your chin? Hmmm? Plus she doesn't really blend in with the background, looks like she has escaped the flower of doom, and is slowly getting sucked back in. Also, the picture quality is bad and Ash don't take no unglamorous pictures! Hmph!

lol thanks for your opinion. Any ideas on how to improve it besides the focous of the render?

It needs depth and the lighting seems off. The sig shouldn't look so flat. Yeah focus on the render... but add some effects so that it doesn't look so plain/flat. Not sure how to explain it.

Well the render of Ashanti would be well served if you erased around her a bit, so she blends into the background more, and maybe erase a bit of the C4D that overlaps her head. Also, NEVER use a border, unless you think it fits perfectly to the composition of the signature. I went ahead and played with your signature, and I'll step by step what I did:

First thing I did is add a Gradient Map, and chose the colors Aqua-Blue and Pink, I reversed them and set it to soft light 40%
Next I put in a curves layer and hit auto
Then I put in a levels layer and hit auto
Then I put in a Underwater Photofilter
Then I created a new layer, went to image and applied image then hit Ctrl+J to copy that layer, then I clicked back on the non-copy version of the apply image and went to filter, blur, gaussian blur and used a 1.5 blur. Then I went to the very top layer, lowered the opacity to 51% and then I click on the "Blurred" layer and erased stuff that I wanted to keep sharp for depth.

Give this a try, or play around a bit, and i hope it helps a bit.

    Here's what I would do,

I try to back her up a bit, so she's not so close.
(floating head syndrome is not good. :) ) Then,
I would darken some of the edges and right behind
her head. Then, throw in just a few foreground effects
    to give it some pop.

    ;)

It's got potential, keep working it. ^_^
