I get the impression that America is lazy and fat and no one eats healthy and exercises.

I for one run about 70 miles a week year round. And weight train on the weekends. (High Reps)

I got 2nd at state for cross country last year with 15:45 for the 5K (3.1 miles) My first split was in 5:02. I have run a half-marathon (13.1 miles) and marathon. (26.2 miles) My best 10K time (6.2 miles) is 33:47

    I enjoy running.

I rarely eat high glycemic foods and I eat a lot of whole grains protein and complex carbs. I drink about 130-150 OZ of water a day.

I feel so much better living like this. But I hate America and am under the impression no one lives like this.

In the Olympic US trials Saturday in New York my idol Ryan Shaw one of the top runners on the US Marathon Team collapsed at mile 5.5 and died. I am very upset as my idol is now dead. He was 28.

not everyone can run a 10k.
you can still be fit and well
    exercised and not be able
    to run that much. some
    people just can't run that
much its just not in them.
    me, i'm not a runner.
    I prefer just lifting weights
    running maybe just a little
bit but there's no way in
hell i'd ever run 10 miles
a day my body just could
not do it. so yeah. you
don't have to run to be
    fit its just basically
    exercising. So yeah...
    pretty much what i'm
    saying is.................

    my dad can kick
    your dad's butt.

    ;)

    *edit*

    and if u hate america..move.

the more you run the easier it gets and the better it feels and more efficient you burn fat

you could get to 10 miles per day it's not that hard

and my dad got me into running

he ran 13 marathons in his life in his 30's

he's 57 now and can still do 13 miles @ 7:30 pace - slow but amazing

he does weights now and is up in 270 bench press max

I do PT with the Army every thursday. And about 2-3 times a week I run 6 miles, which takes me about 50 minutes. I don't weight train (because I dont have a membership to a gym or a weight bench) so I just do sit-ups and pushups.

I just like to run at a nice, slow pace. I could go alot faster if I really wanted to, but meh, I'm not trying to impress anyone.

    I do the exact same.

And no... America isn't fat, nor is it lazy. There is a reason we are the most wealthy country, and it's not because of laziness. And I don't know where you live... but where I live (California), I hardly consider most the people I'm around fat. Every so often you'll see someone that is straight up cow status, and often enough you'll see people over weight (10-15lbs). But for the most part.... people are healthy in America.

In your closet, watching you sleep.

I'm curious about this thread. You start off ranting about how unhealthy Americans are and how healthy you are. Then you just jump into Ryan Shaw dying. Kinda threw me for a loop. Was that so people wouldn't take offense to what you said or saying that he wasn't healthy or something? The ending just confused me a bit lol.

That sucks that he died, especially an Olympic runner...just wouldn't expect that to happen. :(

America bieng fat and lazy is just a stereotype.. Its like some people seem to think us English all have bad teeth, are stuck up and whatever.. Those who take offense need to wake up and smell the coffee.. Its not necessarily true, just how some people see the country because of what they are shown on TV, in the media and what they hear through other means.

On topic, I'm English, slim, unhealthy and lazy.. I smoke, I eat nothing but crap and barely do anything except go to work, and laze around the rest of the time. It isnt just America that is supposedly fat and lazy.. Half of the world is ;)
