As you can see, that banner absolutly owns. I really want to know how to make something like that, like what did this guy to do make it as such. A few thinsg i need help on - 1. You can see some of the renders, it's like they are faded into the image, it's amazing, you can see some parts are see through and some parts of that "render" stand out more. This effect is great. 2. You can see small parts of the banner ligh up, these small sections look really good.. how did he get that effect going. I'm not interested in the text or anything, just the background... i want to know what else did he do to make it like that, what effects do you think he did. I've got a clan myself, and i want to make a good banner for us... but it has to be something great like the one above. Thanks.
The images that are in the bg are just stocks set to maybe lighten , lowered the opacity a bit,and maybe erased some.Since he used brushes I would imagine those lit up places you are seeing are just parts of the brush, though you could probably achieve a similar effect with the dodge tool. Some other effects he did was smudge the background in places, desaturated everything(ctrl+Shift+u), added a blue color balance, and added a sharpen layer. I hope that helps some.
Well there's a knight stock in there and looks like some brushes or maybe not. looks like there's a lot of spatter filters there. And possibly some c4ds or something in linear/color dodge. Lighting, contrast, and color balance.
Thank you guys very much for some of the help, i will now probably check out some tutorials, as i don't know how to do "brushes" and stuff. Thanks guys.
The border is ripped from http://wow-europe.com/en/index.xml Lol. Either way, Lightblue and White Grunge brushes, lightened up. Simple as that.
