The demo was awesome. Crysis lives up to it's hype. I'm playing it for a 4th time now.

I was able to play it on medium settings but it was a little choppy but still looked pretty good.

it runs in XP. To be blunt it runs best on XP(drivers are better/few small rendering diferences)

if you read a bit more you'de have seen a thread I'd made titled "Crysis' DX10 features hacked to XP" such is indicative of the fact that it runs natively on XP.

I'm gonna install this tomorrow; how well will it run on a [email protected] with a 8800GTS 320?
What can you do in the sandbox editor?

    depends on the resolution

for 1680*1050 and excellent playability, expect med-high. Since you "only" have 320mb vRAM you'll likely have to sacrifice on the texture quality, but most of everything else is fine.

I've compledeted it some times now. Too bad I can't run on higher than low. I've "hacked" a file so I get better physics though. Can destroy houses etc. now :)

Didn't live up to it's hype for me really...
Over-rated, probaly pick it up if they weren't too stubborn to release a 360 Version.

it's nto a matter of it being stubborn.

it's just impossible on the hardware the xbox has.

GPU on the xbox is fine
CPU on the xbox is fine
memory interfaces on the xbox are acceptable.
    type of memory is GREAT
quantity of memory... not so great..

crysis is basically just one large tech demo to show off the features of a new game engine. crytek is using crysis to sell the engine more or less. As such they're really pushing the game and inevitably it's memory hungry, atleast to a degree such that consoles cannot compensate. between vRAM and system RAM I want to say I'm pulling around 1.5-2GB memory usage at any given moment just for the game. on a console with 512mb RAM for games graphics and the OS that isn't enough, optimization can only go so far and the game wasn't designed with this in mind. TO be blunt it wasn't even designed with todays hardware in mind, it was design to be a display an exhibit, a glimpse into the future.

expect games with comparable graphics to crysis(albeit with low resolution textures) relatively soon.

as for it living up to the hype, did you play it on Delta difficulty? if not then do so. from what I'm seeing I like it better than HL2.

    Eh. It just wasn't that...original.
Except the graphics, and physics in areas, there is very little to seperate it from other FPS's in terms of plot, location, etc. etc.

The graphic settings I played it on, on my computer, were worse then Xbox 360 graphics. Admittedly it's due to this being my sub computer and relatively crap in spec.
But I'm sure if they actually worked on it they COULD release a toned down version for console.

for about the same amount of work expense and delay they could also probably create a completely new game...

and I'm willing to bet that's what they're doing.
