It looks either too sharpened or too grainy. Try to reduce the noise or something. Position of text could be better.
not too mono-chromatic, they are the very definition of monochromatic. Work on text placement, balance out grainy parts with blurred parts, make sure the edges of the sig are blurred. Compo is good, so is flow, so it's a good sig. Work on the things above.
Go check out my latest tutorial if you really want to do the black and white, it's about compositing the RGB and CMYK with the luminosity of LAB it's really good, and I'm sure you'd get much more definition out of it. Just a thought. I for one like the grain, but I think it might be a good idea, to appease the masses, and just fade them out, or maybe find a way to shrink them to nothing, that'd be cool too.
