I've been really cautious about posting this sig. I personally really like it, and after being away from sig designing for over a year I'm nervous about the critics out there. So here it is and please be gentle...
I'll say something to start, I think the tag would have been tons better without the render on the left side, but still then it's not stunning The effects seem to be good, but if you look closer, you see they lack depth and emotion (by wich i mean that they are just some effects pasted on eachother). There is just nothing going on! I think you can do it, but just keep on practising it, read tuts in the tut section and try to improve your skills, you'll get there
The focal is weak meaning the render is off. Moving the render somewhere "inside" the signature it would look much better. Click here for help on depth and other things.
I will be gentle. But the best way to get better is to get your work smashed. I know it sounds bad, but it really does help. I think the whole sig looks rather blurry. Maybe try to sharpen your stuff a little more. 75% of what makes a tag, is the render you pick. Believe it or not, that takes some practice. The render doesn't do the bg effects justice imo. Try to make your render "part" of the bg instead of on top of it. I used to just brush a bg then paste a render on top, and it didn't look good at all. Sometimes it's hard to say "Yeah, even though I made it, it doesn't look very good." But having pros tell you what's wrong with it or what looks bad, will make you better, faster. Don't be afraid to have pple say things like "Lighting just doesn't look good." or "Render placement isn't very good at all." But don't listen to guys who'll say stuff like "You suck." "That sig sucks" "It's pretty much crap" Or just negative stupidity like that. Those ppl don't have a life, and somehow find solace in being rediculessly rude. Keep it up, don't give up. Make sure to get some harsh CnC and check out lots and lots of tuts.
EXCELLENT!! That's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you guys so much! *rubs hands together* Let's see what I can do with this...
