I'm purchasing Vbulletin forums, which is $600 USD, I have no idea why I am doing this, but I have had some ideas about building a graphic site, I'd like to start my own business in a way, anyone have any suggestions on what I could do? I also have an idea about have a photo company that takes excellent pictures, but it doesn't seem to popular.

    Discuss.

what site you buying, because a vB license is like $80

who many members does the site have?
how many are online that actually post?
    Whats the revenue?

If it doesnt have a lot of stuff, then why spend six hundred on a site, when you can do it yourself, and divide the rest of the $520 between advertising and contests

Well, I just wanna have it for the mean time, Get everything together, Trust me I can build the site up immediately. The problem is coming up with an idea that would be popular to users, so I will restate my question and ask ''What is a good idea to make out of VB forums''. My concern is not members or ads at this point, It's coming up with the whole theme and basics.

Gaming is usually a good topic. However, a computer forum is great. Such as Over-Clocking....

Ummmm... there are PLENTY of idea's... I would suggest you make a site about something you have an interest in, and go from there.

Something you have interest in and know something about. The last thing a site needs is an owner who knows jack about the stuff his site revolves around :P

You also don't have to stick to just one idea, combine two or three of them and that'll give you some diversity.

I mentioned best, 3.6.8 is crap, I seen the previews of it. I'm going with 6.0, the reputation system is great, good for getting members addicted. I actually came up with what I want to do.
It's going to be called, SNAP PHOTO.

Everything are like these forums, except we add a feature..''Photo editing'', you get cash through via paypal if not reputation points for ever picture you edit. Sounds like a plan.

600 with a 1 year license or lifetime??

Does seem pretty steep in price.

Seriously, why 600? Isn't there something cheaper? Do you have a link?

    Yes.

    Why 600$?
See, you'll have the members on it (hopefully).
But some of them might not like what you do, for example if the site is about gaming and you turn it into graphics.

It may also be hard to start a whole new community, but then you'll get members that like the subject the forum is about.
