Ok guys my sis hd windows files are currupted. so i am trying to salvage her hdd for all her important files she needs for works etc but her main account the admin one when i try to access it it says F:/ blablablabla\username is not accessible access is denied. i need help urgent
1. Restart Computer 2. Before windows boots up press F8 3. Once it askes you what you want to do go to safe mode in windows XP then log in as the administrator this will allow full control over the computer 4. Then I right clicked on the folder then clicked the security tab then give permissions to everyone 5. Sometimes you might want to see the permissions with each folder within the root directory to ensure that all have the nessary permisions. -------- an not sure if that will go and also did u try an do a window repair? it wont overwrite anything will just replace the files but she should be able to log in after and get her files backed up on cd or something here is a link for a repair install http://www.windowsxphome.windowsreinstall....dexfullpage.htm also this is for xp if its vista u can just right click an do all the permission stuff from with in the normal windows
thanks so safe mode shouldnshoudl let me get access to the other hdd as well also i have windows upgrade cd not xp home the pc came with xp on it so i fdont have a cd only a upgrade for my pc
well bro if u can get any cd from a friend or anywhere that will do just make sure u use the normal serial an not one from someone else cuz then it will get blacklisted an WGA will get ya an the other dude so ya just do wat i said above an go threw all that an see if u can or not also if this was a pc that u got from dell/mdg or something else u should of got a windows cd or u got the messed up recovery partition that will reset it all to when u 1 got the pc which is not wat u want so yea anyways hope u get it goin
