    ok...

i just set up a quick dual monitor with my 28inch old TV and my computer monitor. i have a nvidia 6800

the main question i have is do they have to have the same resulution because the TV quality looks rubbish. if you dont have to have same resulution how do you change them individually.

and i want my monitor which is on the right to be the main screen isit possible to do this too.

thanks i will give 60 creds to who ever can explain it to me thanks

Depends on what sort of monitor it is? Widescreen? You should be able to select a resolution for each monitor on the nvidia control panel.

Widescreen PC LCD's use 16:10, Widescreen TV LCDs use 16:9 ratio, keep that in mind. Try downloading the latest nvidia drivers. If that doesn't work, try this program:

traditional dual monitor setups require both monitors to be runnin @ the same resolution under windows, but 3rd party software can allow for independent resolutions between monitors.

hoe that helps you some as well.

either that or else you have to have mirrored images and then connect via svideo.

My laptop and external monitor are running under two different resolutions just fine (w/o 3rd party applications).
Maybe because it's got an ATI videocard.
