I figured this would be the best way to do this with 800+bioshock titled threads out there why not name what mine is about before you click on it. I figure this will help a few people figure out if they have a machine to run the game. Now to what i wanted to ask. I m not completely sure if my machine can run Bioshock smoothly. I take that back I dont know what to do to make it run smoothly. The times it runs some what smoothly are when its plugged up and on a charger (laptop). My friends all say my machine is set to run it but im not sure if there are some settings i need to change. I will attempt to list all relevant specs. Dell Inspiron 6400 Intel Centrino Duo 2GB of ram ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 (What ever that is. But it has a place where i can go in and change its settings with catalyst or something like that.) Windows Vista home basic. xbox 360 controller for windows. Any ideas what i need to do to make it run smooth? I figured out that on the charger i guess my battery settings change to max performance so thats a start.
When you open Bioshock, go to settings and try setting all of the video options to Medium. If that doesn't work, try putting 1 or 2 of them on Low. If all else fails, put them all onto Low.
Im not kicking your answer but it was obvious to do that. Im trying to find out if there are settings on the computer i need to change to run Bioshock on a higher quality.
predominantly your video card. you have enough RAM and it's likely that your CPU is fine. but you're probably SOL on that as I don't believe you can really service it yourself and finding laptops cards on the retail market is hard.(could be wrong though, but I'm too lazy to google it) this should probably eb in computing FYI as it's dealing with the hardware aspect of the game
