Its kinda big, next time try to keep your size around 300-400x100-150 px. Anyways. One thing I would like to tell you is to stay away from Blending Options on text (Glows). Head over to the tutorial section and read on a bit, try to remake them all in your head. Then you take some effect/part from each tutorial and try and fit it together. Keep on practicing!
Nice for a first, just on the rather large size. Like he said, keep it within 300-400 width and 100-150 hight. This Samurai Champloo one I have on now was my first too and its 380x110. Stay away from glowing text too. My text has a stroke too, its black text with dark red stroke, but I put it on the inside. Borders are all up to the maker, personally, I dont like borders. there are a few that look good with em, but most I've seen are better w/o em. Peace.
