Kirbir, I know I've psoted already but... It really depends on what game type he wants to play IMO, racing and FPS = 360 is better on and most likely will do. Sony never have been good at FPS.
Personally i have played them both the graphics arnt that much differant although i would say the ps3 beats the 360 hand down it has so much more potential then the 360 and the games issue theres not many out yet but give it a few months there will be loads, as for the ps3 graphics like the ps2 no way ps3 graphics are much more advanced and detailed. My final bit... GET THE PS3 FULLSTOp.
I went out to buy a 360, came home with a PS3, a bit pricier but the guy at the electronics store talked me into it =/ The only bad thing is that halo 3 isn't out for PS3 (yet, i hope)
Halo isn't coming out for PS3, so keep hoping. Killzone dosen't compare with the Halo series... Kz wasn't good what makes you think the second will?
The graphics are great for ps3 if your playing on a hi-def tv with the right coords but other than that graphics are just about the same as a 360 id have to say.. better than ps2 but not as good as they could be.. but i love my ps3.. and my xbox360 ps3 is nice, and it will be nicer once more games come out.. but if he wants one.. its definatly worth it IMO
Depends on what your looking for , really. PS3 - Not much to say.. No good games (yet) The graphics arent close to what they could be. WAY too expensive. 360 - Get this if your dead serious about not having a life. "OMG I OPWNZERED YOU AT HALOZ!!11111" Stuff like that is all that awaits you on the 360. Wii - Fun factor. Party games. Not too many good games out yet, but they ARE there, and more are coming. The graphics of a PS2 essentially. Most fun to be honest. Not to mention the extra stuff you get. (Live-News, Live-Weather, Photos, National\World-Wide Polls , The "Virtual Console" , oh yeah, and you get your own kick ass midget-version of yourself (A Mii).) In my honest oppinion. I would get a Wii. If you don't want one. Get a PS3. If you CANT afford a PS3. Get anything else. An N64, a Sega Genisis, it doesn't matter, but for god's sake don't sacrifice yourself to becoming a "life-less online 360 Pwnzer."
haha thanks. Its not for me though its for my boyfriend so it won't bother me much, he might waste his life on it though heh, who knows My sister has a wii, pretty cool imo, some fun games out already, might get myself one of those in the near future.
I have a Xbox 360, the guy at wal-mart tryed talking me into a PS3, but.... IT DOESNT HAVE NEAR AS GOOD OF GAMES! Xbox live > all tbh 360 ftw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no HDR + AA tell me again how a system where games will either suffer edge aliasing or poor lighting is great? Crazed SM2 work arounds? We've all seen the IQ in oblivion on diferent GPUs and I think it's safe to say we know G70 looses. I just came off of a G70 based card and I can tell you G70 based GPUs suck some gnarly balls as far as image processing goes now G80... G80 is nVidia's redemption, but the PS3 uses the last gen GPU regardless. Heck even the old xenon GPU (which the R600 GPU is largely based off of) has support for simultaneous high range lighting and antialiasing simultaneously.
Your BF would love it, but I do not think it is worth the money! Get him a 360/Wii, or the new iPhone/iTouch depending on what he likes!
i know this may be near impossible lol but what if sony dash in a G80 GPU lolz I just hardcore luld at the "OMG PWWWNZAORS AT GAYLO" comment haha - Ps2 isnt known for FPS but i would say tons of varieties in the games they get on there however i dont play FPS so its all good Racing ye i find racing games like PGR quite good on 360 but then GTHD !! I doubt daz will start jumping up and down with a WII haah unless kirsty jumps up and down with her flatass not moving anywhere
PS3s are great and there's really no need to worry about games. There's going to be a lot of new games coming out in November so your BF should be fine, I know I'll be reaching for my brothers wallet and spending on the upwards of $400 (games cost $100AUD each). Oh and there's the added bonus where the games are region free, allowing you to buy games from overseas if you so desire , though the Blu-ray movies aren't sadly... Anyway if he's a Playstation fan he definitely will not be disappointed with his new, shiny,black toy.
Get one i've got one and there are enough games to last you through the times till the bad boys come.
