    1. open up the pic you want to colourize
    2. desaturate it.
    3. take your polygonnal lasso tool(make sure the feather is 30), and click around the area you want to colour a certain colour.
    4. later>new adjustment layer>colour balance
    5. colour it whatever you like.
    6. repeat steps 3 through 5 in different areas.
    7. done.

i'm sorry there arent any pictures. i'm on a different computer, and yeah.

an example of this method is my 44. caliber love letter signatrure.

i used about 8 - 10 different colour balance layers to colourize it.

sorry again for lack of pictures.

you're right. some places, i could have taken more time doing...
should have moved the upper right yellow down a bit, in order to make it blend more.

    thanks,

    it's basically very technical colouring.
    select areas and such.
no random colours pop in. just what you want.

I prefer to do a colour balance layer then apply the colour with a brush. :D

    dethhydra...
so you make a new adjustment blah blah blah, and then you fill it black, and then brush around with some sort of grungy brush?
sounds good. i'll give it a try. :)
