Well on Wednesday I'm getting a playstation 3 for free because of a bundle and motorstorm with it. It's an 80gb. I was wondering, other than the HDMI cables I already bought, is there anything I really need for it? Any other cables or accesories to make sure everything works fine?

Yeah...it heats up...but it's not that bad...as long as you give it good circulation, and don't stick it in a corner, it should be fine.

You don't really need to buy anything except games...get warhawk, its loads of fun!

Ummmm, doesn't get hot at all, just don't keep it in a tight space.
No need to buy cooling fan, and other then that.

    HDMI cables.
    Obviously 1080P HDMI TV
    Games.
Maby 1 extract controller for multiplayer.

Windex to keep it squeeky clean. lol I'm just kiddin' the HDMI should cover it; other than just games bro.

Warhawk is probably the best game out for the PS3 thus far, besides Heavenly Sword but I'd suggest renting that. ;)

well for me, i put the ps3 in my room and my room turns REALLY hot...so if you plan to put it in a room that has a closed door all the time, i'd get a fan

Any game recommendations? I hear Resistance is sweet.

Maybe I should wait for Haze or Killzone 2 to come out before buying games for it.

Haze doesn't look all that great but Killzone looks tight, as far as Resistance goes it's decent and offers a challenge on single player.

-Ummmm. Haze looks amazing. Acually no doubt going to have the best graphics for a console game.
    Looks like amazing gameplay.

-Resistance is fun, but better for just online. Although Single player is amazing.

-Would not recommend toucing the PS3 with any sort of liquad, or "cleaner". There special cloths that are ment to clean surrfaces like what the PS3 has.

Care to explain why? A detailed explanation might help me understand your statement better.

Special cloths? Really....my sock seems to work fine

Yeah, the surface of the PS3 DOES collect alot of dust, but it comes off pretty easy with a cloth.

Heavenly Sword does look amazing, but I never bought it because everyone said it was a waste because it was so short. Warhawk is amazing, its a must buy. On the PS3 store there is a free demo for Heavenly Sword and Resistance, so you could check those out.

Honestly, hands down, the best thing ever is free online.

Oh, and assasins creed comming out on november 13...although its also for the xbox

I'd also recommend Warkawk like everyone else here :P but yea to start off, get a sports game to carry you through this early developing stage (imo :P ) and Resistance is a great game. Other than that I've left my ps3 on for days/nights and its never gotten 'hot', of course its gotten warm but so far never radiating heat or anything. And also I've never seen the point in buying a remote for dvds/blu-ray, as you can just do it all with your now wireless controller :D, oh and one more thing considering you're getting a great deal like that you should definitely get an extra controller, I really want one myself :(
