i hope you guys are smart enough to realize this is going on because the staff is striving to take credits out of the system

and i read a post of a staff member i think saying that it's risk to buy the item and use it the way you plan, it's not because you can hopelessly get them taken from you without you doing anything

i think you guys need to find a better way of taking credits out without pissing off a majority of the members

When you win, you get 50% of the credits you asked for, so you win 67% of the time, for 50% of what you wanna steal, but when you lose, you lose 200% of whatever you have tried to steal. The effect is actually exactly as we intended, as we have dropped nearly 500,000 credits in 1 day.

Yes, which is why we have a bank, which will take out money from the system on each withdrawal and deposit, as a means of controlling the credit situation.

If your credits are in the bank, you are safe from all forms of theft.

It gets a really small amount of credits out of hte system in either case, which was the main goal.

I can appreciate the fact that GR wanted some credits taken out of the system, especially from those who were hoarding and not doing a dam thing with them.

But, and you must have foreseen this "but"... What about those who actually bought credits with 'real money' in order to buy resources from GR?

I'm one of those people who buy credits with 'real money' through paypal, to buy some of the excellent resources that GR has to offer, and i got 12k taken from me with no warning or anything about a 'steal money' item being added to the shop.

Im gutted, and so are some other long term members, some of which are leaving GR as you may have well noticed. I lost about $50USD's in real cash that i spent on GR creds and im not to expect any reimbursement whatsoever :(

He lost the most though, and it wasn't really fair for him to lose 90k credits all in one go.

Yeah but think about it..You can easily get that 22k back, it takes a whole lot of time to earn 100k credits.

i cant get it back easily, i sold sigs for 500 a piece, that is 44 sigs, i make like 2 a week
22 weeks = 5 1/2 months just to get them back, ebk has been selling stuff longer than i have that is why he has more.

I feel for the long term members...
The whiners did piss me off though, I was actually one of those band of thieves that took 500k credits out in one night...
I feel especially for those that :
    1. Worked for their credits
    2. Are long term active members, and are feeling like they have been back stabbed.

The thing all members need to realize is that this is healthy for the population and in particular the economy.
In a real world economy where every one is hoarding their supply of currency new currency has to be made to fill the place of those "effectively" removed from general circulation.
This causes the currency to become a less valuable commodity, because it has passed what can be called the critical mass of an economy.
I feel the GR admins made the best decision here, there could have been several fixes to the situation...they managed to bring the credits in circulation down and avoid angering ALL of the users, the ones that were hit were the ones sitting on huge piles of cash.
I hope that the community realizes that this in the end is what will lead to the improvement of GR and one day they will come to terms with the arbitrary loss of a few virtual monies.
