dementia how come none of your accounts appeared in the top ten, unless you can rework the system for account not to appear, then why didnt all the staff do that
Because I originally didn't have that much. After the board went to 2.3 I was away for 2 weeks due to real life issues, at that time I had 8 or 9 accounts being used as placeholders because I was helping working on the bank, so I had about 130,000 on the accounts at that time, making the average around 13-15k credits on each, if I remember correctly, the lowest on the top 10 was in the mid 20s, so that would explain that. Recently I have done some work off the site for people (such as web design) and bet some things outside of GR for a few thousand more, and I obviously already had about 25,000 on this account as is, after I donated 5,000 to cast.
Correction. Also, as others have just stated. You can't compare a website to an official government. Maybe a country website as it's based on their country but comparing a render website to the real world is just too damn funny. The thing is that most people worked hard to get these credits. They made tutorials, which they spent hours on, made sells and raised a few credits and then suddenly, all are gone because they weren't put into the bank. Also, the mods as well as the admins are only immune because they knew this was coming (as they planned it) and of course, protected themselves. One question, maybe stupid. Does Shaggy know about this?
oooh, so like a year ago when I saw the shop the IPB installation items and HTML template items, was that you, because I was thinking today how did you get 157,000 because I did a topic search on you In the summer, because of what Andrew and you said
Exactly. Maybe if you ARE comparing GameRenders to a government, why not consider other aspects as well dem?
Shaggy does know, and this was done in the middle of the night, most staff were notified of this change when the members found out about it, it was only setup so staff were immune because thats how the admins saw fit. I was asleep and when I woke up there were multiple where are my credit topics, 3 of the other staff members had gotten a little bit crazy with punishing particular members with the item, and it has been corrected since then, in my mind, as we will be refunding those who were hit hardest for a % of their overall credits. The topic was posted a couple of days ago, but as said, I personally have been having some really bad RL personal issues that prevented me from really playing a part in staff for the last couple of weeks outside about 4-5 days ago when I started posting again and those issues are still going on, just not as fierce as they were at the time. Umm... don't remember that, but I wasn't likely a part of it. EDIT: Actually, now I remember, that was swat. I do web designs for people for their clans and stuff for a few thousand credits for some fast work, uncoded, I also play games on yahoo, like yahoo pool, and a few poker games with people who bet credits, etc. Well, our government steals from its citizens daily, I suppose that counts, its called taxes, and to remain in the US your forced to pay them with no work around. We simply made it legal in our 'government' for members to steal other members, because it did alot more than just influence theft amongst users, and if you were paying attention, its positive effects are already obvious, but narrow mindedness never solved anything.
government stealing from people and people stealing from people is a different thing. taxes are your payment for the privilege to live in the country. is having our credits stolen what we get for being members here? sounds like a great place. <3GR
I still responded to your question. You asked what time a government made it legal to go around stealing other peoples stuff, and I stated what it was, you never specified who was doing the theft, and who they were stealing from. Taxes go for alot of things, including government personal paychecks (schools, government construction, legal, etc. etc.), schooling, books, general labor, some waste management, etc. etc. I never once said GR IS a government, I am comparing ourself to a government to get you guys to grasp a fairly simple concept, you guys are just thinking way too hard about this.
Well, I most likely won't bash you or anything dem since you didn't have any part in this as you were busy with RL issues and was asleep at that time but, some people won't stop since you're a part of the staff. The staff needs to make GR a better place and not ruin it by stealing credits. As many have said, reset all the credits 0 which would stop half of this ---- going on. When it gets too competitive, it's best to bring everybody down and start fresh.
Thats not contradiction, either your intentially being stupid now, or you just didn't understand what I said as it was intended.
Don't worry, every change that has ever occured has been a big deal to the community of GR. People always threaten to leave, etc. and they never do. Things work themselves out in time, and its already doing so here. In 24 hours we've managed to remove nearly 500,000 credits from the system. Sure, its unfortunate that some people were more so heavily targeted, especially by staff, but we will be correcting that in due time. Resetting credits to 0 will destroy the site, and I will explain why. If we continue as this is, the hopes from the staff, and the logical outcome is that the bank will be more so heavily used, which will lead to credits ALWAYS being removed, thanks to the withdrawal and deposit fees. There is no interest, so you won't make any money by sitting on your credits for 10 years, and if you do, they are technically out of the system, they aren't viewable, and they aren't being used, so they may as well be gone. This also stimulates marketplace progression. People don't want on hand credits, because they will be at risk (and the steal amounts in time will get cheaper to buy, and take fewer credits, they are so drastic atm to remove credits quickly) and will either spend them, or stash them out of site, most will spend them, it will encourage selling again, but at better rates, faster auction ends, etc. The steal item allows noobs to get credits quickly, both via a stimulated marketplace, and by the item itself, and there won't be people hoarding credits *as* much. If we start at 0, prices drop drastically, people who sell shitty work will sell for the same amount people who have professional work will, people like EBK, myself, and all the others with multiple tens of thousands are jipped (and they aren't atm, and wouldn't have been had they used the bank as it was intended) where those with 2-3 credits will be super psyched, really low prices, no more credit sales, etc. Also, everyone who paid a LOT of money for credits (and some people have paid $50+ for general credits) will be PISSED. Now, this *is* a good way to remove credits, up the value, etc. but your also going to bring forth monopolies because everything is so cheap, your going to make more people leave than you have now, people won't have as much fun with it, and in the end it won't really stimulate the marketplace. You see, we are well intentioned, and fortunately and unfortunately we are willing to take individual mass loss, such as EBK, in order for overall community gain. You guys are making it out like the site revolves purely around you. Also note, alot of members had lots of credits removed, but didn't whine, and some people, who actually read my posts in the flame forum regarding our plans, and to give us time to let things smooth out, agree that this is a good idea, even those who lost 5-10k+ credits.
why didnt the members get notified, i think it would of been a great idea at the time i went from 22801 to 801 creds. does that seem fit enough
