I hate my college network, they have filters blocking so many sites that I am a member of.. Which brings me on to ask, does anyone know of a way I can bypass these filters?

ok, is the filter really restictive, or does it just block the obvious (pr0n)

Your first step is to try out some web based php and cgi proxies, these are easy and portable but usually quickly blocked...
Tor based browser configs require u have ur own computer or a portable version of the app, they also require a decent amount of configuration and knowledge of the network you are implementing it on...

Some proxy lists to get u started ::
    http://www.freeproxysite.com/
    http://www.freeproxy.ru/en/free_proxy/cgi-proxy.htm
    http://www.webproxies.org/

If none of these do it for u il help u through setting up Tor, note that Tor is not for downloading, as it is tunneled though many gateways and it would be rather slow.
One last thing is that social engineering beats all firewalls, if u can get acess to whoever maintains the black\white list yu have a chance of unblocking that site u have cravings for :D

    Good luck man ;)
