Dude, remember when left bar hit the square and right bar hit it back? Oh my god, it was such an awesome twist to the story. Pong has the deepest, most emotional, most powerful storyline ever to be told.
Bioshock's story was great...really great twist Freelancer had a great sci-fi story Psychonauts was really great too. But the winnar has to be the first Splinter Cell game. BTW: The metal gear solid series is dead to me because 2 was the only one I played...and the ending was friggin horrible. Also, I don't understand what the big deal about Final Fantasy is. I tried playing it...but I prefer enjoyable game that actually try to be "fun." Everytime I play FF it's like reading a book with a mildly interesting story and millions and millions of menus.
Arguably the best storyline to ever grace console gaming is Vagrant Story made by squaresoft on psX. Vagrant Story is no doubt a mature game if there ever was one, but not in the sense that it is particularly bloody or violent.Although there isn't anything very inappropriate for children in it, I have trouble believing many younger players would be interested in religious trappings of its plot and the complicated nuances of its combat system.However, I cannot think of a game on PlayStation that does it better. In terms of general appeal, Vagrant Story is somewhat a double-edged sword. On one hand its visual style is so dramatically effective its story could easily be enjoyed by anyone. Yet on the other hand, its gameplay mechanics are so intensive it is most likely to appeal primarily to hard-core RPG gamers. The casual and even not-so-casual gamer may find themselves frustrated with the well-designed yet daunting battle/weapon system. However, those with more veracious appetites for strategy will surly find Vagrant Story to be a fat slice of gaming heaven.It was an overrated game that a few knows about it, sadly disappointing. I myself is a fan of the Final Fantasy series but considering how its storylines develop over the past years was a little weak on its presentation, notably being too linear.
Wow...Im honestly appalled no one has suggested Final Fantasy Tactics...Im pretty sure that is the best game...EVAR!!! Guild Wars has a awesome storylike for the MMORPG market...

Wow I can not believe you think Zelda is Overrated. That game is amazing. The entire series is play worthy with the exception of very few titles. Original Legend of Zelda was definitely one of the best games ever made.....
