fast RAM doesn't do much if you're not an overclocker(overclockers tend to run 400-500mhz system buses and as such RAM performance is more important). run CPuz http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php give us a screenshot. then go to the memory tab. Decent speed RAM is DDR2-533 2-2-2, DDR2-667 3-3-3, DDR2-800 4-4-4 and DDR2-1066 5-5-5. your CPu runs on a 200mhz bus by default so RAM @ 400mhz(DDR2-800) is technically OVER double the speed of the system bus and doesn't really reach it's full performance(200mhz system bus=3200mhz memory bandwidth max. 400mhz(dd2-800) RAM has a max bandwidth of 6400mhz. As it is memory bandwidth isn't an issue for you since you aren't even reaching half of the RAMs capacity due to the system bus being slow. For you RAM latency matters most(the secondary numbers) like here is the RAM shot bottom right thingy. give us a screen of that. I'm willing to bet your RAM is fine. It's just me and deve and the rest of us nerds get obsessed over random little things most people don't give a damn about and we hold the opinion of "if you paid $$$ you should get top of the line"
he is saying 64bit just uses a ---- load more ram then the 32bit which i have it and doing simple stuff like surfing and it use's 800MB of ram playing a game 1.8GB close to 2GB
uhh no. not really. Right click ym computer, what do you see? I bet you see 2GB. you have 2GB RAM. According to your own anology that means your computer doesn't use RAM. In that case I'd advise you to... ok bad joke... heh... and brandon you're liekly ona 32bit operating system 32bit OSes can only directly address 2GB RAM. Technologies like PAE can be used to adress more RAM but it's reliant on your motherboard to a degree as well. PAE basically sets your extra RAM as a PCI device and then it's accessed rapidly. the system basically just rapidly switches between memory clusters. and FYI this is part of why i said past 2GB was a waste, because you need a 64bit os to utilize it all, YET the video drivers are a bit iffy on 64 bit versions of windows.
i feel better now lol , i dunno why but i do but next tiem xlink when you talk abotu computers to me make it simpler lol i cant understand alot of this stuff u just said
32bit operating systems can only recognize so much RAM without work arounds 64bit OSes are great, BUT currently video cards don't perform well under them because off driver issues. basically don't worry
