Get a 360 elite, then you're guaranteed not to get any failures. But yeah, some do tend to get the red lights but it's still a good system nonetheless. And, you don't have to get a ps3 to play gta 4,lol.

The 33% failure rate is true.

No one ever brings that up in a PS3 vs. 360 argument, though...

It's not likely, since the problem was fixed in that one.(it's a new 360 design sorta)

I know someone who returned an elite. A friend of mine, actually. It stopped reading the discs. Never got three red lights, but every disc came up unreadable.

    I love mine though. I'm on #3 already. :(

IF you use it normally, it won't fail on you, and if it does you will get a new one.

I've got an elite and haven't had any problems. The only problem was when I moved the console, it scrached all the disc, but that happens with them all and it's my fault :P

Just get one. Theres always a chance something will go wrong. Just like a new car. You take chances on anything you purchase.

I don't see what the problem is with the red lights.

They have a free fix of it so meh.

Yeah the elites are awesome, a bit pricey but don't they look and feel cool?

Totally go for 360. As well as gears of war and Halo 3 there is Bioshock... Bioshock = <3 ... but it sicks ass because it's one player...

But look THREE game reasons to get a 360! Now the weights are overbalanced! =O

Just get a warrenty, and make sure you buy one of the new releases (not even talking 'bout Elite).
But the older versions had a problem with the CD-Reading, or well, my grandfather (yes, he's weird:D) had a problem with it.
