Nvidia Driver

I got the nvidia gforce 4 video card which is also a sound card. i need to install the driver. i went to there site and searched their drivers and i dont know which one to download. please help me. thnx

 

There is only one driver for all nvidia cards

 

I downloaded the Geforce and TNT2 but it still didnt work. the problem i am having is when i go into counter strike and i go into a server, right when it is done loading my computer restarts. I was also told my computer came with the driver already installed....

 

m8 that might not be to do with your G-card m8 when a PC shuts down like u said its usally because the CPU is over heating wat CPU do u have and if you using an Intel check that it isnt running over 40 C and if u have An AMD check it ant running over 60 if they are then there running over there peak limit and that could, COULD be what is doing it as they say try and keep the CPU around those temps but if u have a celiron then if i was you id thow ya PC away :lol:

 

Yeah i have an amd. but i dont think its over heating. i had this problem as soon as i bought me computer. then i installed the driver and i didnt have th problem any more. And my computer is only 3 months old. well this all pretty much started out b/c i was playin cs and i went into a game and all the colors were funky in some spots. they werent natural. the only way they would go back to normal if i reconnect to the server. so i decided i really didnt want to keep on reconnedting so then i tried to reinstall the driver for my video card. i did but i downloaded the wrong one. thats when i satrted getting the restart problem again. so i uninstalled the drivers. (thinking i need to reinstall) so i uninstalled. then it messed up my computer even more. my internet was disabled and all my settings were changed n' ----. i couldnt fix anything. so i got it rebformatted. still didnt work. kept on restarting. hmph. now if i get a new processor do i have to get a new motherboard too?

 

I had the same problem. CounterStrike would always tell me to update my Gf4 driver (i just got my laptop),and I did it numerous times, then restarted- nothing changed. I emailed nvidia, and they said it should have installed fine, CS might just be a bit buggy about it. GL to ya.

Same as ATI(What I have) Certain drivers will cause your Computer to restart or shut down frequently, search for older drivers or possibly rollback 1 driver.

 

i have a nvidia sound card also the soundstorm when i install that driver it over rights the soundstorm and a differnet one appears. its not as good as what i originally had. so if there is a way i can have both please tell me

 

alright i got the right driver that allows me to have the normal sound card. but i still have the restarting problem my comp doesnt restart on random n e more. its just cs. right when i get into the server it restarts.

 

what graphics card do you have (and what drivers, or same ones for sound/video like u said above??)

 

yeah i have the gForce 4 MX with the 71.84_win2kxp_english driver installed. and for the sound all i know is that it is called "sound storm"
