Well hai all I'm kinda having a problem with counterstrike, pretty much with all my games but when ever I try to join a server it says to me, "Could not contact master game server to retrieve server list." pleas please help meee Anyone who helps me and get's it working I will reward with 150 credits! If you help me within 1 day I can always boost it up to 200 Credits! Thanks!
Make sure your firewall is not blocking steam from connecting to the internet. If that doesnt work then forward these ports if you have a router, UDP 27000 to 27015 TCP 27020 to 27039.
do you have some sort of network or connect to the net directly & what firewall programs do you use .. i think maybe access is blocked

Go to www.portforward.com and theres a customized guide for configuring a router for CS... You do have a router, right?
i had this error with battlefield 2142, try making sure that the correct ports are open, you can find this by typing, in something like my.router into the address bar, depends on your router or try ur ip address, then find the section that says "port forwarding" and change them like to what furious said UDP 27000 to 27015 TCP 27020 to 27039 , if that doesn't work, find where it says dmz host, and sest urself up as that, (or jsut wait for a new patch) hope this works
