Disturbed call themselves hard rock, not metal. That, and there's not much "metal" about them. In my opinion... nu-metal isn't metal. That's why most people call it "mallcore" now.
not agreeing, it's called nu-metal for a reason, it's a new form of metal. But for some reason, people who like different sorts of metal can't seem to accept that a genre can change
Behemoth's death metal is "mallcore"... Because thats the type of music that is popular along with nu-metal and hardcore... Therefore it makes them a "mallcore" band.. And they are not "nu-metal".... Nu-metal incorporates bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, P.O.D., Linkin Park, etc.... Because they take the classic metallic sound of bands like Kiss, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, etc. and add a "new" twist to it, mainly a hip-hop type of beat. I figure you probably already knew that</sarcasm>, but I need to back up my statement. I think Disturbed has a metallic sound, just enough to make them appeal to casual metal fans and small enough amount to be mainstream acceptable. I actually still like them, I listened to them when I first started getting into metal; and for that reason they still appear on my playlist.
I kind of agree with Dinges... And P.O.D. and Linkin Park are NOT Metal.... LP is Alternative Rock (I think) and P.O.D. is...Hmm... I guess Hard Rock.. I haven't listened to them in a while.. But from what I can rememebr, they are hard Rock..maybe Alternative/Hard Rock.
LOL Behemoth MALLCORE? Mallcore is ---- like Atreyu and It Dies Today - generic and/or terrible metalcore (personally I like ITD) that is "hip" - again, something like Norma Jean. Nu-metal isn't metal at all. It's more of a rapcore, but the fact it doesn't focus much on the rap (but it is very pr------ent). Anyone who says nu-metal takes after Judas Priest or Kiss doesn't know ---- about metal or what nu-metal really is.
How the hell did Behemoth become "Mallcore"?! Behemoth's latest album was the first album of theirs to even HIT the Billboard Top 200. Goddamn that was the most ridiculous statement I've heard all day.
