It's an mp3 player, but it's one of the originals, so maybe they saw it fitting to label it as such. And I don't know why they don't do it for everything else... so don't ask. But if you let such a small thing "piss you off" then you need help.
Because people are too f**king stupid to realize that, though Apple stuck 'i' onto everything (see iPod, iMac, iPhone, i$20devicerequiredtochargeanmp3playerfromawallsocket, and iSoldmysoultoApple), it's an mp3 player, same as your Creatives and your Sonys. That and they've dumped the iPod into our eye sockets so much since 2001, people believe they're two separate things.
When you invent something so revolutionary that it changes the way people look at portable entertainment then I'm sure it will be singled out in the field as well. It was one of the first and the best and it made its mark in the mp3 industry. There weren't many mp3 portable players back then so if you had an mp3 player you had an... iPod more than likely. Also... you really need counseling if you let little issues like this get to you. There's a war going on and people are dying. That pisses me off. You on the other hand are mad about iPods.
