Well I just bought and joined the FFXI online game community and I was wondering if there are any other other players in GR, old or new. I'm still kinda lost because I got it yesterday. Anyway I'm a Galka Warrior on the server Pheonix, and so far I'm only lvl 6.

I tried playing it. Sorry to tell you this...but I thought that it was probably the worst game I ever played...ever. Get out while you still can.

I've always wanted to play the game but I don't wanna fork over cash for a game i might not play for long (I'm usually community based on mmos).
Brother and friend both owned the game but wouldn't let me try it out.

I was planning on buying it for the PS2, but I just didn't feel like buying the game (with the network adapter) for $100, then buying a second router (current one is full) then buying a PS2/USB keyboard, then on top of that, the subscription fee. Ew.

Hey, I play but I'm on Ifrit server. My advise is to join a friendly linkshell because you will learn a lot from the linkshell members and you should be able to find players who will explain things and help you out when they can. I found the game very confusing at the start and only started to understand things once I met a few nice other players. Like youngster05 said, the lower levels are boring but things pick up when you start to party and get a sub-job so hang in there lol

@Shinobi, you could buy the game and try it out as once you start you get something like a month free to test it out, only problem is if you decide it's not for you; you can't take the game back to the shop because it can't be resold but I think there is some sort of special version being released or that is released already that is very cheap so you could check that out and then test the game without spending a whole lot of money to find out you don't like it.
