Hey guys, i recently got a laptop for my birthday and i have been looking at a couple of routers, i was just wondering which router would be better, here are the 4 router suppliers i have found which seem to have a bigger and better range. I want a pretty good one so that i can sit anywhere around my home and still be able to connect to the internet (pretty quickly).

    Netgear
    Linksys
    Belkin
    D-link

They are the 4 i have found, if anyone has heard of any of these could you please let me know which one in your opinion is the better one.

    Thanks guys. :)

Everyone I know uses Netgear, including the IT Department in the hospital where I work. Hope that helps you narrow it down a bit. :D

Its a pretty big house to be honest, ill be mainly using it in my bedroom (just across the landing from the computer room, 2 rooms away) and downstairs in my living room (which is almost directly underneath the computer room) so as long as i can get a good connection from those 2 rooms i should be ok.

Id get a netgear, the one i have is 100x better than my old linksys. The old linksys would just randomly disconnect for no reason on wireless and even through a ethernet cable. I have no problems what so ever with the netgear disconecting at all. The one i have is the Netgear Wireless N w/ Rangebooster & Gigabit.

I use a Belkin, and have never had any problems with it. I have never tried any of the others though, so I have no basis for comparison :P

I use Netgear... right now its screwing up but that's because we're using an ADSL router for an ADSL2+ connection, otherwise it's probably one of the most reliable brands.

You can't really choose between Belkin, Netgear etc.

For example, Belkin's top product may be better than Netgear's mid-range product or vice versa.

However, from past experience, I'd recommend Belkin. They're usually very good and I think they have a 24hr free phone support line! :P
Otherwise, try one of the Netgear MIMO routers (I think it's the WPN824 from memory)...they have cool flashy lights on the top too :)

Well my brother uses D-Link and it isnt too bad. It works well for the small space he is in. If you want something to go through a big house though I suggest Netgear.
