I'd say, before you can honestly pick one, try playing the 10 day free trial for WoW. Then you will have had a chance to play both, and can pick one based on what you think, as opposed to what others think.
Don't get either. MMORPG's suck you in. When I got Guild Wars I couldn't stop playing. I was completely addicted. Then I realised my problem and sold my account. People who play these games a lot have a serious problem. In extreme cases it can even result in death. So instead of getting one of these games, go get drunk and smoke dope. At least you'll have a social life.
WoW because that thing is like....stuff you buy on the streets. It more fun in a way to. So yeah I didnt like LOTR a lot
I say WoW. LotRO has no playable magic users... so of you want the glowing power of spells... you can't have em there... unless you want to sing your enemies to death... they have a singing class =\ Everyone knows games based off movies are bad... I presume the same rules apply for books. The graphics are nice on LotRO... but then Fable had good graphics and look where that got it -.- There's no PvP in LotRO... there is a sorry excuse for a battlegrounds if you wish... WoW steals your soul, and keeps it gleefully in it's possession. That's true. But it's what any good game should do. And it's a lie that you can't get a girlfriend on WoW because I'm a girlfriend and my boyfriend plays WoW thankyouverymuch =\
haha at least this part is true. My girlfriend started playing WoW about 6 months ago after seeing me playing, and now she complains because I don't play enough. Scary.
I'd say WoW by far. Yes, it is time consuming I agree. It WAS and apprently still IS popular. I mean hey, they made a damn South Park episode after it. Lol. Even though I wasted probably half of my summer holiday playing WoW, I don't really regret it. It was just too fun. Try it. :] On the other hand, I never tried LoTR before. Never was a fan tbh... Anyway I'm going back to make some more tuts and sigs..
I choose wow cause its so fun cause u have to lvl up characters and u get nice armor and u can pwn noobs when u hit 70 lmao.... I love wow...
Never played LOTRO so i guess my vote is for WoW, people that have no life because of it must have no self control because i play WoW but i only play like an hour or two a day (because of school i havent played in weeks, and im fine with that)
Oh yes, cause smoking pot and ending up with no braincells and a visit in jail is much better then just maybe, MAYBE, meet some interesting people that you can have a nice little chat with sometimes. Can you do that when you're stoned? ... And do you call that smoking pot is a social life? I'm not saying WoW is, but think about what you're saying.
